Hey Kandiss,
What a amazing idea and concept using social media as a way to change the way actors are seen through the casting tunnel. That saves CD’s a lot of time and effort trying to find actors with certain skills in that realm. Keep up the great work and i love it. Jaimes

Wow! Using social media SHOULD be a must for all actors. I love this. I think you hit the nail on the head. It saves time for casting directors, as well as possibly saving the actor money on headshots, which can be quite costly and get lost in the shuffle. Also, what better way aside from doing the actual audition, can a CD see you showcase your specific talent!? Great advice/topic!
So, I guess I have a new trick. (And it isn’t juggling
)

Hey Mike, thank you for your comment, however, I don’t think headshots will ever become obsolete in this industry. Using the skill clips may shorten the casting process which benefits everyone involved. When are you going to add your skill clip of your graffiti art or you on your motorcycle??

Hey Jaimes, I didn’t create this tool, however I agree that using social media is the key for actors like you and I to get ourselves out there. Since you’re such a great dancer you should be creating your skill clip ASAP!!!!

This is an incredible idea! I believe that everyone was created to fulfill a unique role.. This tool enables directors to easily find that person without the limitations of distance and time. Also, it allows actors to capture different facets of their skills and talents thru multi social media.
I love it! Kandiss, you’re so innovative!

Hey Janet! Thanks for your comment. I think you make such a great point about actors creating an opportunity for themselves to capture their skill on camera. If we don’t show people what we can do, it may never get seen! Actors must take more control of their careers!

Definitely! I only hope casting directors really use this tool. I need to do some research to find out what casting directors REALLY think about this. I’m sure they think it’s great but, do they really use it?

Hey Felecia! I’m a member of lacasting, which is a casting website for actors, agents, managers, and casting directors. I was looking for current casting and saw this application featured on the homepage. I haven’t added my skill clips yet, but I plan on creating skill clips for field hockey, hurdles, dancing, singing, and sleeping! Just kidding about the sleeping… I’m just REALLY good at it!
